Mabuhay and Thank You For Everything!

The 12th Congress of the Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Society of Asia (PENSA) hosted by the Philippine Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (PhilSPEN) from October 18-20, 20007 has just drawn to a close. It was a resounding success for everyone most especially for the Organizing Committee, which deserves most of the credit. Again we would like to thank God for everything that made the whole congress a source of knowledge and delight, highlighting the hospitality and talent of the Filipino. To our generous international faculty, guests from the different countries of the Asia Pacific, our local delegates from the doctors, dietitians, pharmacists, and nurses coming from the different areas of the Philippines, and most especially our esteemed sponsors - "Maraming Salamat Po!" (Thank you so much!).

We hope that the theme of the Congress Clinical Nutrition: Putting Principles into Practice, will be truly implemented by everyone who attended the different sessions - from the Pre-Congress TNT to the Main Congress Sessions - in their specific areas of practice. We are therefore thanking and congratulating the Parenteral and Enteral Society of Malaysia (PENSMA) under Mrs. Harbans Dhillon who will continue the work of improving the status and practice of clinical nutrition here in the Asia Pacific. We hope to see everyone again in the 13th PENSA Congress, which will be held in Malaysia in 2009!

In the context of a globalized practice in clinical nutrition, we hope there will be more efforts to develop and nurture collaboration among the participating societies; in particular, that dialogue and cooperation will be fostered to identify problems in clinical nutrition peculiar to Asia, and to propose lasting solutions that will benefit all concerned. We would like to see PENSA become more relevant to the times and become the catalyst that will unite the Asia Pacific region (throught its different members) in the different aspects of clinical nutrition. Therefore, let us not stop working to achieve this goal and contribute our share in the improvement in standards of nutrition therapy and care in the global community.

We are also giving you the proceedings of the whole congress in this web site and hope all of you who were here or who failed to join would further benefit from the write ups, reports, and lectures which the speakers have generously shared with us all for the love of clinical nutrition education. Please do not hesitate to communicate with us for any concern or help you may need.

Sincerely yours,
